10 Albums Out Today You Should Listen to Now: Mac Miller, Mykki Blanco, Preoccupations, More

With so much good music being released all the time, it can be hard to determine what to listen to first. Every week, Pitchfork offers a run-down of significant new releases available on streaming services. This week’s batch includes new albums from Mac Miller, Mykki Blanco, Preoccupations, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Usher, Against Me!, AlunaGeorge, Touché Amoré, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith & Suzanne Ciani, and Robert Glasper Experiment.

The self-titled album from Preoccupations is the band’s first release since changing their name from Viet Cong. The album is led by the tracks “Degraded,” “Anxiety,” and the 11-minute cut “Memory.” Read our interview with the band about their name change.

The Divine Feminine is Mac Miller’s follow-up to 2015’s GO:OD AM. It features contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Cee-Lo Green, Robert Glasper, Ariana Grande, and more. The album is led by the previously shared songs “Dang!” (and its video), “We,” and “My Favorite Part.”

Mykki Blanco: Mykki [Dogfood Music Group]

Mykki is Mykki Blanco’s debut album. It features Jean Deaux, Woodkid, and Jeremiah Meece. The album is preceded by the tracks “Loner,” “The Plug Won’t Listen,” “High School Never Ends,” and “My Nene.”

Pretty Years is the follow-up to 2014’s LOSE. It is produced by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton. The album is led by the single “Wish.”

Hard II Love is the follow-up to 2012’s Looking 4 Myself. It features the previously released songs “No Limit” (with Young Thug), “Crash,” “Missin U,” and “Champions.” The album also features Future and Priyanka Chopra.

Against Me!’s Shape Shift With Me is the follow-up to Transgender Dysphoria Blues. It features the previously released tracks “333,” (and its video) and “Haunting, Haunted, Haunts.” This fall, frontwoman Laura Jane Grace will also release her memoir.
