ABBA Developing New Virtual Reality Experience

ABBA Developing New Virtual Reality Experience

This past June, ABBA reunited briefly for a performance at a private party in Stockholm to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Soon, the band will offer a new way to see them live for the first time since their last public performance over 30 years ago. They have partnered with Simon Fuller (creator of “American Idol”) and Universal Music Group for “an original entertainment experience” that involves virtual reality. Further details will be announced in 2017.

According to a press release, Fuller’s businesses have been investing in “developing hyper-realistic digital humans in the field of entertainment.” He explained, “We are exploring a new technological world, with Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence at the forefront, that will allow us to create new forms of entertainment and content we couldn’t have previously imagined.”
