Adele Didn't Give Donald Trump Permission to Use Her Music

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has played Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep” and “Skyfall” at his campaign rallies. The usage wasn’t cleared with the singer, who issued a statement through a spokesman to The Independent: “Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning.” Trump hasn’t sent out a slew of angry tweets in response.

Last year, Trump used songs by R.E.M. and Neil Young, and was asked by both artists to stop. Michael Stipe was particular blunt in his refusal: “Go fuck yourselves, the lot of you—you sad, attention grabbing, power-hungry little men,” he said.
