Adult Swim Cancels “Million Dollar Extreme,” Show Accused of Racism and Bigotry

Adult Swim has cancelled its show “Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace” after one season, the network confirmed to Pitchfork. The cancellation comes following controversy surrounding the sketch comedy show, which had gained a reputation for promoting racist, sexist, and bigoted viewpoints and symbolism. Its creator, Sam Hyde, is an outspoken member of the so-called “alt-right,” a movement that embraces an ideology of white nationalism.

Comedian Brett Gelman recently severed ties with Adult Swim over the network’s treatment of women and their support of “Million Dollar Extreme.” Tim Heidecker offered his support for Gelman with a statement on Twitter.

Adult Swim did not offer any additional comment on the cancelation.
