Amy Winehouse Doc Amy Extended Trailer Released
Following the teaser, here’s the first official trailer for Amy, Asif Kapaida’s forthcoming, controversial documentary about the life of Amy Winehouse. The film, which comes out in NYC and Los Angeles on July 3 and gets a nationwide U.S. release on July 10, offers a broad glimpse of the late singer’s life and career as presented by the film: her childhood, her rise to international fame, her tumultuous relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil, and her struggles with addiction before her death from alcohol poisoning in 2011. “I’m not a girl trying to be a star,” she says. “I’m just a girl that sings.” Watch below.
