André 3000 Discusses OutKast Tour Jumpsuits, Miami Exhibit

André 3000‘s jumpsuits from OutKast‘s recent reunion tour are currently on display in Miami, coinciding with the annual Art Basel event. André sat down with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) founder Paula Wallace to discuss the exhibit they’re part of, “i feel ya”. (The jumpsuits will be on display at the SCAD Museum of Art next summer.) Watch the conversation and a panel featuring André below.

In the conversation with Wallace, he discusses his inspiration for different messages on the jumpsuits, working with the other two artists in the exhibit (Jimmy O’Neal and Greg Brunkalla), editing out his more offensive jumpsuit messages, and which messages were the most popular.

Recently, The Fader ran a conversation between André and Nicolas Jaar, wherein the OutKast member said he “felt like a sell-out” and said he “didn’t wanna do the tour”.
