André 3000's Outkast Reunion Tour Jumpsuits on Display in Art Exhibit

OutKast‘s André 3000 and the Savannah College of Art and Design have teamed up for i feel ya, an exhibition that explores “fashion, film, and painting.” It centers around 47 jumpsuits designed by André for OutKast’s 2014 reunion tour. The jumpsuits were emblazoned with his “musings and observations– a response to today’s content-heavy digital landscape, which provides an unrelenting flood of images and opinions,” according to a press release

The exhibit will also feature paintings by artist Jimmy O’Neal, as well as Trumpets, a film directed by Greg Brunkalla. As a press release explains, “The film uses the thoughts and expressions on the jumpsuits as a creative point of departure to build a broader conversation about language and context. Two projectors cast words and phrases onto a single surface without syncing to the film itself—a spontaneous effect that creates a wholly unique experience for each audience and screening.”

i feel ya will be held from December 3-14 at Miami’s Mana Miami, where it will coincide with the annual Art Basel event. After that, it will be shown at the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia, in the summer of next year. There will be a panel discussion on December 3 featuring André 3000, Brunkalla, and SCAD President Paula Wallace.
