Aphex Twin, Kendrick Lamar, St. Vincent, Beyoncé, Jack White, Beck, Pharrell Win Grammys

The 2015 Grammy Awards take place tonight on CBS, but before the TV-aired festivities kick off, the pre-show Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony took place. 

Aphex Twin’s Syro won Best Dance/Electronic Album. St. Vincent’s self-titled album won Best Alternative Music Album. Jack White won Best Rock Performance for “Lazaretto”. Kendrick Lamar won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “i”. Beyoncé and Jay Z’s “Drunk in Love” won Best R&B Song. Eminem won Best Rap Album for MMLP2.

Beyoncé‘s self-titled album won the Grammy for Best Surround Sound Album. Beck‘s Morning Phase was named Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Pharrell’s album Girl got Best Urban Contemporary Album, and “Happy” got Best Music Video. Eminem and Rihanna won Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Monster”. 

“Weird Al” Yankovic’s Mandatory Fun received the award for Best Comedy Album. Third Man and Revenant Records’ box set The Rise & Fall of Paramount Records, Volume Two (1928-1932) won Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package.

John Coltrane’s Offering: Live at Temple University got the Grammy for Best Album Notes. Alexandre Desplat won Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for his Grand Budapest Hotel score. Tenacious D won Best Metal Performance.
