Apple Finally Releases Wireless AirPods Headphones

Apple has finally made its new wireless headphones available. Starting next week, AirPods will be sent to customers, and stocked “at Apple Stores, Apple Authorized Resellers and select carriers,” according to a press release. Shipping for an online purchase, however, is estimated at six weeks–pushed back from two- and four-week estimates, likely due to demand, as MacRumors points out.

AirPods were first announced in September (along with the headphone jack-free iPhone 7), and were slated for a late October release. When they did not come out, an Apple spokesperson said, “We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers.”
