Ariel Pink Performs With Fifth Graders of P.S. 22 Chorus

A few years back, the fifth graders of Staten Island’s P.S. 22 Chorus sang a version of Ariel Pink‘s “Round and Round”. Now, everything’s come full circle: Yesterday, Pink visited P.S. 22 to chat and sing with the kids. Check out photos from the visit above and below, with more here.

The kids sang a version of “Jell-o” from Pink’s forthcoming album pom pom. Then, they teamed up with Pink to do “Picture Me Gone” (also from pom pom), with the kids singing the chorus and Pink doing the verses.

Afterwards, Pink sat down for a question-and-answer session. The kids asked him why he calls himself “Ariel Pink”, how he got his start, what his lyrics mean, and “why does white bread kill you?” (referencing a “Jell-o” lyric).

Video of Pink’s visit to P.S.22 is coming soon.

pom pom is out November 18. Read our Update interview with Pink.
