Beck Wanted Chance the Rapper on “Wow”

Beck released his new single, “Wow,” yesterday afternoon, as well as hinting his Morning Phase followup is finally nearing completion. Although the song’s release debunked rumors of an original OG Maco feature, Beck has revealed another surprise guest almost made the cut, via NME. “I like the new Chance The Rapper record a lot,” Beck said. “Four or five months ago we tried to get Chance on ‘Wow.’ I’m not sure what happened with that.” Elsewhere in the interview, Beck hailed L.A.’s “hip-hop renaissance,” shouting out Kendrick Lamar.
