BET Hip-Hop Awards 2016: Watch Lil Wayne and Kevin Hart Go Head-to-Head in a Cypher

Since BET began hosting the BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2006, the awards show has included a segment called The Cypher, featuring pre-recorded freestyle sessions with different artists. This year’s ceremony was no exception, with several rappers participating in cyphers. One cypher added a new spin to the long-running segment. DJ Drama described it as a “one-on-one battle” between Lil Wayne and Kevin Hart’s rap alter ego, Chocolate Droppa. “One has sold over 80 million records, a thousand features, numerous Grammys and BET Awards and the other one hasn’t done a goddamn thing,” Drama says. Watch it below.

Gucci Mane opened the show with Travis Scott, Young Thug, Migos’ Quavo, and Zaytoven. Kendrick Lamar later presented Snoop Dogg with “I Am Hip-Hop” Award.
