Birdman Talks Lil Wayne Fallout: "I Love My Son. He Mean the World to Me."

Birdman has opened up about his fallout with Lil Wayne in an interview with Power 105′s Angie Martinez. The two are currently embroiled in lawsuits over the delayed release of Wayne’s Tha Carter V, as well as the recently released Free Weezy Album. Birdman, along with Young Thug, was also recently accused of conspiring to kill Wayne.
But in the interview, Birdman toned down the rhetoric, expressing surprise over the dispute. “That was shocking to everybody,” he said. “You never thought Wayne would be saying nothing negative about me in no lifetime. I never thought that could ever happen — for that man to open his mouth and say something negative about me.”
He continued: “You understand me? That was a lot. Shit fucked my day up. I love my son. He mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life.” You can watch part of the interview below; the full interview will be aired this afternoon on Power 105.1.
Update: In the full interview, Birdman continually referred to Wayne as “my son” and said, “That’s my son at the end of the day. I’m going to support him.” He also said that he and Wayne haven’t spoken to each other during the ongoing drama. However, their studios are next door to each other, leading him to sometimes go over to listen to Wayne’s music. When pressed by Martinez to explain how they haven’t spoken despite their proximity, he said, “I feel like in due time we’re going to do it, but this ain’t the place or time for it.”
In related news, David Banner has filed a lawsuit against Wayne, as TMZ reports. The lawsuit is related to royalties from songs that Banner produced for Wayne’s Tha Carter III—”La La” and “Pussy Monster”. Banner says that in 2012, he was told by Young Money that he was owed $137,787.19, but that he hasn’t been able to get paid. Banner also claims he’s owed royalties from 2009′s Young Money track “Streets is Watchin”, which he also produced.
