Black Flag’s Greg Ginn Accused of Child Abuse

The ex-wife of Greg Ginn has accused the Black Flag co-founder of child abuse and seeks to remove his access to their daughters, according to court documents.

On October 10, Marina Ginn filed a Motion to Modify Parent Child Relationship and a Request for Emergency Hearing on Temporary Orders in Williamson County, Texas District Court. She is asking the court to designate her “sole managing conservator” of their daughters Isadora, age 10, and Karis, age seven, and asking the court to grant her “exclusive right to set up the primary residence” for the children.

Marina’s affidavit was first reported by Consequence of Sound; Pitchfork has also received a copy of the affidavit and confirmed its veracity. 

According to the affidavit, Greg “behaved erratically and abusively and endangered the lives and emotional wellbeing of the children.” The document claims that the children “have complained that his behavior has recently grown increasingly erratic, that he is routinely denying them food and threatening them, that he is increasingly abusing alcohol and drugs in front of them, and that they have witnessed confrontations and physical violence at the building where they live.”

It goes on to claim that Greg “forced [the children] to do cleaning chores until 2 a.m.”, “locked [them] in a room alone with no contact with the outside world through cell phone or emails,” and that he has “throw[n] cups of water in their face.” It says that “the children have seen him drink and do drugs, including marijuana, on a daily basis.”

According to the document, Greg has told his daughters “you’re hot” and “whistled at them,” and told them “they are getting fat and need to lose weight and that their diets will have to be more strenuous.” 

The document claims that Greg does not allow the girls to go to public school and insists that they be homeschooled. Also, “if they voice their opinion, he will mock them and has been known to say ‘shut the fuck up.’” 

The girls also “can’t sleep” and “get headaches every night” due to Black Flag practices in their building. 

As a result of all of this, “Isadora has had a seizure, chest pains, and difficulty breathing.”

Marina is asking the court to deny Greg access to the children and that the court order that he “obtain a full psychological evaluation.”
