Blood Orange Slams Devendra Banhart’s “Insufferable” Music
Earlier this week, Devendra Banhart shared a new song, “Saturday Night,” from his new album Ape in Pink Marble. One person who likely didn’t care for the song is Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange). Earlier today, he tweeted, “The music of devandra banhart is so insufferable I feel sorry for the entirety of Los Angeles, you deserve better.” He subsequently deleted the tweet, but when asked “What exactly is the point of being so insufferably rude?” he responded “Happiness,” and added “You should all know by now that I don’t attack people for no reason…” See Hynes’ tweets below.
Pitchfork has reached out to representatives of both Hynes and Banhart for comment.
Back in 2011, both Hynes and Banhart were both featured in Adam Green’s film The Wrong Ferarri. And, at one point, were friendly enough to pose for this picture together.
