Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, the National's Aaron Dessner Announce Eaux Claires 2016 Lineup

Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon and the National‘s Aaron Dessner have announced the full lineup for their second annual Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, taking place August 12-13 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It features artists from the cassette mixtape sent out to fans last week, including Bon Iver, James Blake, Shabazz Palaces, and Jon Hopkins, as well as Erykah Badu, Beach House, Vince Staples, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Mavis Staples, and more. Dessner and his brother Bryce will present Day of the Dead, an “all-star cast of musicians” performing Grateful Dead songs, in conjunction with their long-in-the-making Dead tribute project. Bruce Hornsby and his band the Noisemakers will perform the album The Way It Is in full and Cornelius will perform his album Fantasma.

Check out the full lineup poster, and watch the Dan Huiting and Michael Brown-directed announcement video, below.

Due to a track on the cassette, there was speculation that Blake and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon would perform together at Eaux Claires as Fall Creek Boys Choir, which was the title of a 2011 song they did together. The lineup, however, lists Blake and Bon Iver as separate acts.

Among the rest of Eaux Claires’ 54 acts are Deafheaven, eighth blackbird (with Bryce Dessner and Bonnie “Prince” Billy), Jenny Lewis, Lisa Hannigan and Aaron Dessner, LNZNDRF, Lucius, Melvins, My Brightest Diamond, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Richard Reed Parry’s Quiet River of Dust, Phosphorescent, S. Carey, Sam Amidon, Sarah Neufeld, and William Tyler.
