The SXSW Film Conference and Festival will screen several music-centric films this year. One of them is Love & Mercy, the biopic about Brian Wilson starring Paul Dano and John Cusack, Billboard reports.
Several documentaries will also screen at the festival. Among them:
- The premiere of All Things Must Pass, Colin Hanks’ documentary about the rise and fall of Tower Records
- Montage of Heck, the Kurt Cobain documentary that screened at Sundance and will air on HBO in May
- Danny Says, the Brendan Toller-directed film about Danny Fields (the iconic manager who worked with the Doors, Stooges, Ramones, Velvet Underground, MC5, and others)
- Mavis!, a documentary about Mavis Staples directed by Jessica Edwards
- THE DAMNED: Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead, a documentary of the English punks by Lemmy director Wes Orshoski
There are a bunch more screening, too; find the full lineup here.
