BRIT Awards 2017 George Michael Tribute: Coldplay's Chris Martin Sings "A Different Corner"

At the 2017 BRIT Awards tonight, Coldplay‘s Chris Martin performed a tribute to George Michael. He sang “A Different Corner,” originally released on Wham!’s 1986 final album Music From the Edge of Heaven. Halfway through, Martin was joined by video of Michael singing along. The performance was introduced by Michael’s former Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley, as well as Wham! backing vocalists Pepsi & Shirlie, who gave an emotional speech sharing their memories of working with Michael in the early 1980s. Watch it all below.

This year’s Grammy Awards featured a tribute to Michael by Adele. She stopped in the middle of her performance of “Fastlove” and restarted after messing up. “I’m sorry, I can’t mess this up for him,” she said.
