Broken Social Scene Announce New Album Hug of Thunder

Seven years after their last album and over five years since they declared a hiatusBroken Social Scene are back. The band recently made their return with “Halfway Home,” which they performed on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Now, they’ve announced their long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s Forgiveness Rock Record. Their new album Hug of Thunder is out July 7 via City Slang/Arts & Crafts, a representative confirms to Pitchfork. As previously reported, the album features Feist (who just released her album Pleasure), Metric members Emily Haines and James Shaw, Stars members Amy Millan and Evan Cranley, and more.
