Bruce Springsteen Talks Dads, Depression, Trump With Marc Maron on “WTF”

Bruce Springsteen, who recently released his memoir Born to Run, guests on the latest episode of Marc Maron’s podcast “WTF.” Maron, who, like the Boss, was born in New Jersey, delves deep into Springsteen’s childhood and his relationship with his father. They reflect on how mental illness affected Springsteen and his dad’s bond, and how, unlike his father, Springsteen found a life “project” that steered him ahead. He also discusses the impasse in his life that led to the creation of Nebraska, as well as his fear and anxiety at the election of an “unamerican” president in Donald Trump. Listen or download it here.

Previous guests on “WTF” include Kamasi Washington, Joanna Newsom, Yo La Tengo, Steve Albini, David Byrne, the Thermals’ Hutch Harris (who discussed Springsteen), and more.
