It was reported back in 2012 that Carrie Brownstein was working on a memoir. Today, it’s been announced that Penguin will release that book, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, on October 27, NME reports.

The book is reportedly a “deeply personal and revealing narrative of Brownstein’s life in music”. Brownstein told NME that it ends with Sleater-Kinney’s hiatus following The Woods, which means there’s nothing on “Portlandia”, Wild Flag, or Sleater-Kinney 2.0

Brownstein formerly wrote the NPR Music blog Monitor Mix and has contributed to The New York Times, Slate, and The Believer
