Chance the Rapper Reveals How Kanye Coloring Book Collaboration Was Made

Tomorrow, an interview between Chance the Rapper and Zane Lowe will air on Apple Music’s Beats 1. The conversation can now be previewed. In the previews, Chance talks about collaborating with Kanye West on Coloring Book‘s “All We Got,” saying “He records drums in a way I’ve never seen.” He also called “All We Got” the “thesis” of the record, talked about Kanye doing his “Kanye dance” while listening to it in the studio, and detailed how he recorded the drums on the spot. In the other previews, he talked about his reluctance to sign with a label and his affection for Chicago. He hinted that “a lot of those people” from the major labels attempted to prevent him from releasing music, and discussed how the Grammys are re-examining their rules to accommodate free and streaming-only projects.
