Chance the Rapper to Perform at 2017 Grammy Awards

Chance the Rapper is nominated for seven Grammy awards this year. Today, it’s been revealed that he will perform at the ceremony. Sturgill Simpson, Gary Clark Jr., Little Big Town, and William Bell have also been announced as performers. They join previously announced performers Daft Punk, the Weeknd, A Tribe Called Quest, Anderson .Paak, Dave Grohl, Adele, Metallica, and others. The 59th Annual Grammy Awards happen on February 12 and will air on CBS.

Chance’s nominations include nods for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Performance. In the Best Rap Song category, he’s competing against himself three times (for “No Problem,” his featured verse on Kanye’s “Ultralight Beam,” and as a listed writer on Kanye’s “Famous”). Last year, the Recording Academy changed the rules of Grammy eligibility so that streaming-only releases like Coloring Book could be considered.
