Coachella 2017: 5 People Arrested for Stealing Phones

Five people were arrested Saturday at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival for the theft of more than 40 cell phones, cash, and credit cards, the Associated Press reports. Indio police said that multiple Coachella attendees reported thefts, and two different groups of suspects were identified as having multiple phones on them. The five people arrested were Angela Trivino, Viviana Hernandez, Brenda Cansino, Marco Leon, and Sharon Ruiz, the Desert Sun reports. Police have attempted to contact festival-goers whose phones were stolen. Recovered phones will be held at the festival’s lost and found. Last weekend, a man was arrested for stealing over 100 smartphones at Coachella.
