Courtney Love to Star in Lifetime’s New Menendez Brothers Movie

Courtney Love will star in an upcoming Lifetime movie about the infamous Menendez brothers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will play Kitty Menendez, wife of entertainment executive Jose Menendez. Both Kitty and Jose were murdered by their sons, Erik and Lyle, in 1989, resulting in a widely-publicized trial. Casting for the brothers is currently underway.

The made-for-TV movie is being written by Abdi Nazemian (writer on the ABC television movies Beautiful Girl and Celeste in the City) and directed by reality TV producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”). The untitled project, which will begin production next month, follows Lifetime’s recent JonBenet Ramsay telepic, Who Killed JonBenet?. This year, the first season of NBC and Dick Wolf’s upcoming anthology drama, “Law & Order: True Crime,” will also focus on the Menendez brothers.
