Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, the Knife, More Get Orchestral Covers Album

Dance Music Symphony is a newly announced album that will present orchestral covers of dance/EDM songs by Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, the Knife, Skrillex, Underworld, Swedish House Mafia, and more. The covers have been arranged by Scandinavian composer Hans Ek, and will be performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic. The interpretations will debut on July 2 at Sweden’s Bråvalla Festival, where they will be performed by the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. Below, find the tracklist and the art.

In a statement, Ek talked about the project: “I listened through a vast amount of dance classics and new hits. From a palette of the greatest music I selected songs perfectly suite to a symphonic ‘remix.’ For example, Massive Attack’s ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ already had a strong orchestral presence, and Daft Punk’s ‘Aerodynamic’ had elements of Vivaldi and Prokofiev.”
