Adele‘s forthcoming record, the follow-up to 2011′s 21, is coming soon. As reported previously, collaborators include Tobias Jesso Jr, Swedish pop master Max Martin, Danger Mouse, and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. Today, Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn said that he worked with the singer on the new record, in an interview with The Sun (via Consequence of Sound). However, he expressed doubt over whether his contributions will make the final cut.

“Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her,” Albarn said. “And I’m not a producer, so… I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so. Let’s wait and see. The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young.”

Albarn also mentioned that he’s heard some of the tracks Adele’s finished so far, describing them as “very middle of the road.” The album’s rumored to drop this November.
