D’Angelo Performs "The Charade" and "Really Love" on "Saturday Night Live"

In his first television appearance since the release of his new album Black Messiah, D’Angelo and the Vanguard performed on last night’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” (hosted by J.K. Simmons). He performed the tracks “The Charade” and “Really Love”.

During “The Charade”, he wore a hoodie while his band wore shirts that said “black lives matter” and “I can’t breathe”. In the middle of the stage, there was the outline of a body, clearly referencing the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
