Last month, David Bowie shared an extract from “Blackstar”, the title track of his forthcoming album. The snippet will soundtrack the opening credits of Canal+/Sky Atlantic TV show “The Last Panthers”. Now, to mark the show’s launch this week, Sky Atlantic has shared an extended, two-minute preview of the track. Listen below.

Meanwhile, film director Danny Boyle has told the Radio Times (via Fact) that, before making Steve Jobs, he abandoned a Bowie musical because the singer refused to permit use of his music. Boyle had been working with 24 Hour Party People screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce when the news came in, leaving Boyle “in grief.” He began work on Steve Jobs to “fill the space in my heart left by the abandoned Bowie script,” he added. Apparently, the director is “very keen” to resume the project in future.
