Death From Above 1979 Cancel Tour After AWOLNATION Ditch Them for Prophets of Rage

Death From Above 1979 Cancel Tour After AWOLNATION Ditch Them for Prophets of Rage

Last night, Prophets of Rage (the supergroup featuring members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill) extended their “Make America Rage Again Tour.” They also announced that AWOLNATION would join them on the road. As it turns out, AWOLNATION were able to join Prophets because they pulled out of their tour with Death From Above 1979, as Consequence of Sound points out. Now without AWOLNATION’s backing, DFA 1979 have canceled their remaining tour dates because, as they wrote in a Facebook post last week, “the reality is that the costs of touring are simply too high for [them] to endeavor on such a short run.” The band also explain that they “had nothing to do with that decision” to cancel the AWOLNATION dates. DFA 1979 will go back on tour in October with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Deap Vally. See their note and adjusted tour itinerary below.
