Deerhunter Perform Extended Version of "Snakeskin" and More Fading Frontier Tracks on KCRW

Deerhunter released their new album Fading Frontier last month. The band recently stopped by KCRW to perform a number of its cuts, plus “Desire Lines”.  The extended version of “Snakeskin” included an improvisation called “Escape From the Nursery”. Watch the band’s session in full below.

KCRW’s Travis Holcombe also interviewed Bradford Cox. The two discussed the corporate music industry (which Cox says is “essentially on a breathing machine”) and its relation to avant-garde music; Royal Trux; the relationship between art and spirituality; Disclosure (“Disclosure is killing [classical composer Krzysztof] Penderecki!”) and much more. The interview portion begins at the 37-minute-mark in the video.

Setlist:

Breaker
Desire Lines
Living My Life
Duplex Planet
Snakeskin >Escape From the Nursery (Improvised)
