Dev Hynes With Connan Mockasin, Plus Grouper, Iceage, More Set for Mexican Summer's New Myths

On March 13-15, Mexican Summer will present the New Myths festival in Marfa, Texas (just before SXSW). It’s a cultural program featuring artists from the rosters of Mexican Summer and Daniel Lopatin’s label Software, and more.

New Myths will feature a recording residency from Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes and Connan Mockasin, plus sets from Grouper, Iceage, Tamaryn, Steve Gunn, Co La, Bitchin Bajas, Weyes Blood, Thug Entrancer, GABI, LBS., and Suicideyear. There’s also going to be a “sound bath” created by Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, a “semi-permanent outdoor mural” by Grouper’s Liz Harris, and more.

A limited edition 12″ documenting the Dev Hynes and Connan Mockasin collaboration will be made available, as will a “New Myths journal” featuring local Marfa artists and artists on the festival’s lineup.
