Dirty Projectors' Dave Longstreth Composes Classical Work Called "Michael Jordan" For Ensemble LPR

Dirty Projectors‘ Dave Longstreth and Micachu and the Shapes‘ Mica Levi both recently composed classical works for Ensemble LPR– La Poisson Rouge’s resident strings ensemble. Their work, respectively titled “Michael Jordan” and “Greezy”, appeared alongside arrangements from late composer Claude Vivier and Greece’s Iannis Xenakis in a recent performance. Last year, Radiohead‘s Jonny Greenwood and the National‘s Bryce Dessner contributed works to the same ensemble, which was led by conductor André de Ridder.
