Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) Cast as Lando in Han Solo Movie

Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) has been cast as a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo movie, according to StarWars.com. The film, which will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, has already cast Alden Ehrenreich as Solo. The stand-alone film will take place years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. The still untitled Han Solo movie is set to be released in 2018.

Glover is currently starring in the FX series “Atlanta,” which he created and co-writes. It follows Glover as Earnest “Earn” Marks, a college dropout who returns home to Atlanta only to discover that his cousin Paper Boi (played by Brian Tyree Henry) is an up-and-coming local rapper. The series has already been renewed by FX for a 10-episode second season.
