Donald Glover’s “Atlanta” Season 2 Delayed

The second season of Donald Glover’s FX show “Atlanta” has been delayed, Deadline reports. Season 2 is currently slated to air in 2018 due to Glover’s production schedule, which includes a forthcoming Star Wars role as Lando Calrissian. The currently-untitled movie (which focuses on Han Solo) is set for a 2018 release, with filming taking place this year.

In addition to the prospective “Atlanta” air date, FX Productions has announced a new overall deal with Glover, according to Deadline. As part of the deal, Glover will develop a new TV series for FX. He will also continue as writer, director, executive producer, and star of “Atlanta.”

“Atlanta” won Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the 2017 Golden Globes. Glover also took home Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy. During his acceptance speech for the former, Glover famously thanked the Migos (guest stars on his show) for making “Bad and Boujee.”
