Donald Trump Attacks Jay Z Over “Bad Language” at Hillary Clinton Rally

Donald Trump has attacked Jay Z over the “bad language” that the rapper used during a Get Out the Vote concert for Hillary Clinton last night in Cleveland, Ohio, as CBS News points out. The Republican presidential candidate addressed Jay Z’s lyrics during a campaign stop in Tampa, Florida, telling a crowd, “I actually like Jay Z, but you know the language last night. I was just thinking maybe I should just try it, should I use that language for one event? Can you imagine if I said that? So he used every word in the book. I won’t even use the initials, because I’ll get in trouble, they’ll get me in trouble. He used every word in the book last night.”

The candidate went on to criticize Clinton, who had decried Trump for his use of “lewd language.” (The candidate was caught on tape saying “grab them by the pussy” with regards to women in 2005. He also said on the campaign trail that he would “bomb the shit” out of ISIS.) “My lewd language? I’ll tell you what, I’ve never said what he said in my life,” Trump said. “But that shows you the phoniness of politicians and the phoniness of the whole system folks.”

Jay Z did not address Donald Trump by name during the show in Cleveland, instead opting to refer to him as “this other guy” and saying, “I don’t have any ill will towards him. But his conversation is divisive and that’s not an evolved soul to me. So he cannot be my president, he cannot be our president. Once you divide us you weaken us.” He closed by saying the Clinton campaign’s motto: “We’re stronger together.” During last night’s concert, Jay Z and Beyoncé introduced Clinton to the stage.
