Don’t Buy Bon Iver’s Newspaper on eBay, Record Label Says

Yesterday, before the release of Bon Iver’s new album 22, A Million, a series of listening events were held around the world that included the distribution of a special newspaper containing imagery related to the album. On eBay, sellers are auctioning off the newspaper for prices over $1,000. This afternoon, the band’s label Jagjaguwar posted on Twitter warning fans to not “spend $$$$ on them on eBay” because they have made more and are “working on a plan to get them” to fans.

Friends, we made PLENTY of these #22AMILLION newspapers. We’re working on a plan to get them out to you. Do not spend $$$$ on them on Ebay.

A spat of similarly insane prices and inflation on eBay happened after the release of Frank Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry magazine. (Despite Frank Ocean’s mom’s warning, a wider release for that magazine hasn’t happened yet.)
