Drake Covers Nico/Jackson Browne's "These Days"

Drake has teamed up with Barf Troop‘s Babeo Baggins for a cover of Jackson Browne‘s “These Days.” You can hear it above. The track leaked a few days ago, raising speculation it would appear on Drake’s next album Views From the 6, which will be out in April. However, Baggins confirmed to Dazed that the track was recorded for a covers EP. “Drake is a friend of mine,” she said in an e-mail. “‘These Days’ is my favorite song in the world and I showed him the song because he had never heard it. He connected with it, which explains us doing the cover.” Listen to that below.

Jackson Browne wrote “These Days” for Nico in 1967. It debuted on her album Chelsea Girl. In 1973, he released his own take for his album For Everyman. Hear their versions below.

Drake’s already shared the lead single for Views From the 6, “Summer Sixteen.” At SXSW, he announced that he will tour soon.

Nico’s “These Days” placed 31 on Pitchfork’s “The 200 Greatest Songs of the 1960s” list. Read “Drake’s Views From the 6: The Complete Timeline” on the Pitch.
