Drake Scores First Solo No. 1 Hit With “One Dance"

Drake‘s new album VIEWS has broken a number of records, following its release late last month. In addition to boasting the biggest sales week of the year so far, the album set a new high mark in single-week album streams. Today, the Canadian rapper has scored his first number one hit as a lead artist for “One Dance,” his collaboration with Wizkid and Kyla, as Billboard reports. Additionally, he’s set a record for the most concurrent tracks on the Billboard Hot 100—a whopping 20 tracks, one-fifth of the entire chart. The record was previously held by Justin Bieber, who had 17 concurrent tracks on the Hot 100 last December.

Drake’s sold over 1 million copies of VIEWS so far, including streaming album equivalents. Its tracks have been streamed more than 245.1 million times in the U.S. alone. The record was previously exclusive to Apple Music and the iTunes Store. Last week, it got a physical release and became available on all digital download retailers. This Friday, the album will be available across all streaming platforms.
