Drake’s “One Dance” Is Most Streamed Song in Spotify History

This past May, Drake scored his first ever solo No. 1 song with his VIEWS single “One Dance.” Today, Spotify has announced that “One Dance” has become the platform’s most streamed song ever. It has accrued over 880 million streams, topping the previous record-holder “Lean On” (by Major Lazer and DJ Snake featuring MØ), which had 526 million global plays when it became most-streamed last November.

According to a press release, Drake has over 8 billion total streams on Spotify. Upon its April release, VIEWS, in particular, broke many streaming records, despite being a two-week Apple Music exclusive. In its first week, the album’s tracks were played over 245 million times in the United States, on its way to becoming the nation’s No. 1 record. The next two weeks, it racked up 141 million and 186 million streams, respectively, setting a record for the three biggest streaming weeks ever.
