El-P Will Remix Run the Jewels’ RTJ2 Using Only Cat Sounds If Meow the Jewels Kickstarter Is Successful

El-P Will Remix Run the Jewels' RTJ2 Using Only Cat Sounds If Meow the Jewels Kickstarter Is Successful

Earlier this week, Killer Mike and El-P detailed a bunch of ludicrous pre-order packages for their upcoming Run the Jewels album RTJ2 (out October 27). For example, $40,000 gets you Meow the Jewels, a remixed version of the album primarily featuring cat sounds. Now, in the same spirit that brought us Caustic Window, a fan has launched a Kickstarter to ensure that fans will be able to hear RTJ2‘s meow-loaded remix.

The bottom of the official pre-order page comes with the disclaimer, “run the jewels reserves the right to take your money and not fulfill any of its obligations as outlined in any package priced at 35k or more.” But El-P has promised that he’ll actually do it if the Kickstarter is successful:

someone made a kickstarter to fund the “MEOW THE JEWELS PACKAGE”. if this gets funded i will make this album.https://t.co/6tvzp2Z3rF

Rewards include Meow the Jewels, stickers, books of matches, catnip (of course), shirts, physical LPs, and the opportunity to have your cat recorded for Meow the Jewels
