EL VY (The National, Menomena) Share New Single "Paul Is Alive"

EL VY—the collaborative project of the National‘s Matt Berninger and Menomena/Ramona Falls‘ Brent Knopf—will release their debut album Return to the Moon on October 30. After sharing “I’m the Man to Be”, “No Time to Crank the Sun”, and the title track, they’ve got a new one called “Paul Is Alive”. Hear it below, via Spotify. Update 8:22 a.m. ET: Also below, watch the lyric video, directed by Matt’s brother Tom Berninger, who made the National documentary Mistaken for Strangers.

“I think ‘Paul Is Alive’ is about finally finding the water that you can breathe in, finding a place or a person that makes you feel like you,” Berninger said in a statement. “It’s very much my story of what Cincinnati was like, growing up and falling in love with music, discovering these little places where like-minded people could find each other.”
