Eleanor Friedberger Plays DJ In Video for New Song "False Alphabet City"

Eleanor Friedberger has shared a video for “False Alphabet City”, her first new track since 2013’s Personal Record, as well as her first release with Frenchkiss Records, to which she recently signed.

Inspired by and incorporating footage from Friedberger’s role as a New York City radio DJ in artist Sara Magenheimer’s film False Alphabets, “False Alphabet City” sees the musician performing her on-air duties and wandering the city streets, microphone in hand. Later, she performs the song with her band at the New York art gallery Recess, which hosted Magenheimer’s residency, during which she developed the film. (Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier is also involved in False Alphabets.) Watch it below.

Along with the new song, Friedberger’s announced a short stint of shows in California and New York City this November. Check out the dates below.
