Ennio Morricone‘s music for Quentin Tarantino’s new film The Hateful Eight—the legendary composer’s first Western score in four decades—will be released on December 18 via Decca (and on vinyl via Third Man). Listen to the opening track “L’Ultima Diligenza di Red Rock – Versione Integrale” below.

The photos above and below were taken at a recent event at Abbey Road Studios, where Morricone conducted the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in a live recording of the score. (Actors Kurt Russell and Walton Goggins were also present.) If you pre-order the soundtrack here, you’ll be entered for an opportunity to receive one of those limited, hand-stamped, direct-to-vinyl pressings of the Abbey Road session.

The soundtrack also features music by the White Stripes, Roy Orbison, and David Hess.

Last week, Morricone’s score was nominated for a Golden Globe. The Hateful Eight is in select theaters on December 25 and January 8 everywhere else.
