Father John Misty Cuts 13-Minute New Song “Leaving LA” for 3-Minute Radio Edit: Listen

Father John Misty has shared a “radio edit” of “Leaving LA,” a 13-minute song from his upcoming album Pure Comedy (out April 7 via Sub Pop/Bella Union). The new version is under three minutes and consists of just the song’s first and final verses, cutting out some of its more topical lyrics (such as “Oh great, that’s just what we all need/Another white guy in 2017 who takes himself so goddamn seriously.”) Listen to “Leaving LA (Radio Edit)” below. Josh Tillman has previously shared several songs from the album, including “Ballad of the Dying Man,” “Two Wildly Different Perspectives,” “Total Entertainment Forever,” and “Pure Comedy.”
