Fool's Gold's Nick Catchdubs Announces Debut LP Smoke Machine, Shares "Full House" Ft. Heems and Troy Ave

Nick Catchdubs, the co-founder of the Fool’s Gold label with A-Trak, has announced his debut album. It’s called Smoke Machine, and it’s out April 28. That’s the cover art above. He’s also shared “Full House”, which features Heems and Troy Ave and can be heard above. Other guests on the album include IAMSU!, Jay Ant, and B.I.C.

In a press release, Catchdubs talked about the album:

Smoke Machine is an album I’ve been working on in bits and pieces for the last year or two. It didn’t start with a mission statement, or a grand thematic concept. But in the process of making music for other artists and helping with their projects, there would always be tracks we made that never quite fit. In a weird way, those oddballs were the songs that felt the most like “me,” and the sound of Smoke Machine started to take shape. A musical island of misfit toys. Cut-n-paste collab club music that wasn’t going to make sense anywhere else.

He also described the beat to “Full House” as “too jiggy to live as an instrumental headphone thing, too weird to give to any artists for their own projects.”
