Foxygen Tease New Music in New Video: Watch

Foxygen released their third album …And Star Power in 2014. Today, the duo of Jonathan Rado and Sam France have teased new music in a 35-second video. In the clip, France goes to a concert wearing a suit. Watch it below. Pitchfork reached out to Foxygen’s representatives, who had no comment on forthcoming new music.

In addition to the new video, Foxygen updated their Facebook profile photo and cover photo, as well as their Twitter avatar to the same black and white image of the woods. The new activity suggests that a new record could be looming. Prior to …And Star PowerFoxygen released Take the Kids Off Broadway in 2012 and We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic in 2013.

In 2015, Foxygen played shows that they called the “Farewell Tour.” At the time, they wrote, “THIS IS OUR FINAL TOUR,” but they will actually play a show on Sunday, October 16 at the Desert Daze festival in California. Also last year, they released the new song “24 Hour Lover Man,” which includes a reference to Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig.

The band’s Jonathan Rado has released one solo album, Law and Order. Since the duo put out …And Star Power, he started a label called Rado Records, an imprint of Jagjaguwar. Earlier this year, the label released its first LP, In Glendale by Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric).
