Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey Left Off Brian Wilson Album Due to "Scheduling"

Yesterday, Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson announced No Pier Pressure, his newest studio album, which is set to feature contributions from She & Him and Kacey Musgraves, among others. However, previous reports indicated that Wilson was working with Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey on the album. They were nowhere to be seen on the official tracklist.

Now, a rep for Wilson tells Pitchfork that Ocean and Del Rey didn’t make the cut because their schedules didn’t allow them time to finish their songs. “[Brian] really loved his voice,” the rep writes regarding Ocean. “Maybe another time.” As for Del Rey, “It was a timing thing as well, he wanted her to come back in to do more work but scheduling didn’t allow.”

Del Rey was set to feature on a track called “The Last Song”. Instead, Wilson is the only singer credited on the song. Ocean was supposed to appear on “Our Special Love”, which now features  Peter Hollens.

No Pier Pressure is out April 7.
