Freddie Gibbs Announces New Album, Shares “Crushed Glass” Video: Watch

Freddie Gibbs has announced a new project called You Only Live 2wice. The follow-up to 2015’s Shadow of a Doubt is out March 31 via ESGN Records. The announcement is accompanied by a new video for a new song called “Crushed Glass.” Find the tracklisting, cover, and the video below. Directed by Eric Nelson and conceptualized by Gibbs with Ben “Lambo” Lambert, it follows the rapper through a desert where “he contemplates the recent events that have transpired in his life,” according to a press release. The You Only Live 2wice cover depicts Gibbs as a Christ-like figure, and the album opens with a song called “20 Karat Jesus.”

In June, Freddie Gibbs was arrested in France as a suspect in a rape that took place in Austria. In August, he was formally charged with sexual assault after being accused of drugging a woman and sexually abusing her while she was defenseless. The charged carried a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. The next month, he was acquitted. Weeks later, Gibbs released his first new song since the arrest, “All Day.”
