French Montana Cancels MC4

French Montana had planned to release his second studio album, MC4in October before sample clearance issues and leaks caused the album to be delayed. Now, Montana has decided to permanently shelve the project as a result, he announced in an interview with Complex. He explained the setbacks in detail:

“Songs like “I’m Heated” and “Two Times” couldn’t be cleared. By the time I got the mix how I recorded it, it wasn’t the same. I just ain’t have the same feeling for it. Everybody had to replay shit, and do all this extra shit, so I wasn’t in the mood to put it together. All the music going to come out, you know what I’m saying, just packaged differently. Plus, the album got leaked.”

MC4 was to be the latest installment in the long-running Mac & Cheese series. It included the previously shared songs “No Shopping” (with Drake), “Figure It Out” (with Kanye West and Nas) and “Lockjaw” (with Kodak Black). The album was also set to feature tracks with A$AP Rocky, Miguel, and Jeezy, as well as another that features Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, and Styles P.
